OASIS Health Center

Oasis health center is a non-profit Organization  based out of Charlotte,NC. There goal is to create guide tools to help their community while also making those tools accessible.

Challenge 

Center of disease control and prevention state that only 13.2% between the age 18-44, and â…“ of america can’t afford. The strategy of Oasis’ team identify the gap and try to find the Solution.

The Goal

To create that give a mobile App and Responsive Web that grant affordable accessible  mental health resources to all the resident in the community.  

My Role:
Responsibilities 

 UX Designer leading the app and responsive website from concept to delivery.

Conducting interviews, paper and digital

wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping,

conducting usability studies, accounting for

accessibility, iterating on designs, determining

information architecture, and responsive

Research Summary

The first half of my research was quantitative research with Center of disease control and prevention on mental health where required my data. With that I develop research question, which  I used to conduct user interview. Most Participant reported that they don’t know where to find or afford the mental health or any resource in their community. With the feedback I found that most User want to be more involved in their mental health if they have access to the resource and affordable as well.

Sam is a Resident Assistant who needs an app/website that help make mental health resource accessible because he want to help his freshmen resident transition to college life.

Jacque is a Director of a homeless shelter who needs an app that help to bring awareness and resource to mental health because mental health resources is not accessible  to the people at his shelter.

Competitive Audit

An audit of a few competitor's products provided direction on gap sand opportunities

to address with the Oasis App.

Lo-fi  Prototype

To  prepare for usability study, I create low-fidelity prototype that connects user flow to reaching different mental health resource. (support groups, articles, and therapist ).

HI-FI Prototype

the low-fidelity prototype,

including design changes made

after the usability study.

After finishing Oasis App. I started designing  the  sitemap for the responsive website. I created this Information architect so all my screen sides cohesive

Take aways

Impact:

User shared that this very versatile resource to people needs.  “This app gave me access to resource that I didn’t even know we had.”

What I Learned:

I know mental health is a big hot topic today. After doing  the research learning that people who don’t always have access to the resource.  Going through process allow me appreciate create a product that affect the community 

Next Step

Conducting research to see how successful the app reach its goal of making mental health accessible

Creating a new users flow on adding events on the calendar

Create a marketing campaign to push the app to the community
